Here’s a great tip from the latest issue of Lonny online magazine. For those of you that like the idea/look of wallpaper but can’t bring yourself to paste it to your wall for fear of the ridiculous amount of work it takes to come off, then this idea is for you. Even if you’re a homeowner. Give it a try! I haven’t tried it yet, but I will the first chance I get! Want to be my guinea pig?

I love this idea! Now if only I could commit to a particular wallpaper pattern.
I am considering using some sort of wallpaper in the new nursery if it’s a girl! You can come and watch us hang it…it’ll look good on your resume
Hi, I have been a 2nd generation professional paperhanger for 32 years and write a column in Painting & Wallcovering Magazine. I think there is something you should know about wallpaper removability. The difficulty of removal depends greatly on three things i.e. the material, the adhesive and the correct wall priming. There is one type of wall covering called Fabric Backed Vinyl that yanks off the wall in one piece without sprayers or scrapers. I mean it. Anybody can pull off all the paper in a normal sized bedroom before coffee break provided that 1) a Fabric Backed was used, 2) a strippable type adhesive was used, 3) the wall was primed with “wall protecting primer” made specifically for wallpaper. Now for the good part:
If someone in an apartment has picked out a wallpaper material that ISN”T a strippable “fab-back” I first hang a white, smooth finish Fabric back vinyl under layment or “liner” , prime it with suitable primer, and then hang their paper on top of it. When they want to move out they rip off the liner in one piece without scraping and everything else comes with it.
People also use this method with mural art work. It is installed on heavy canvas and can be removed in one piece if they want to take it with them.
Wallpaper is back! But one thing that killed it in the 80s and 90s was that too many amateurs installed it incorrectly and set up problems for removal that were completely unnecessary. Call a pro a at the National Guild of Professiona paperhangers http://www.ngpp.org
