a fresh perspective on interior design

Finally, a nursery update!

I’ve been meaning to post pictures of the nursery for so long now and today I finally got around to snapping some pictures.  They’re not the best quality, but they are the best I can do for now so bear with me!

$5 Rocking Chair (originally $500) spray painted white by the husband and reupholstered by my mother-in-law

Ikea Shelves and boxes store our many books and small baby toys that need a home.

Love Gerald the giraffe, a gift from my mom and dad.  We’ll let the baby name him eventually.

Bulletin Board I recovered in orange burlap and added nailhead trim along the edges.  Eventually will be hung above the dresser.

Ikea dresser with clearance Pottery Barn knobs that we spray painted navy blue. (originally red)

Alphabet wall with DIYed letters from my baby shower! Check it out here and here.

  • Hi Katie,
Well done for creating such a beautiful and fresh space. Was hoping to get your permission to post your nursery on my blog. I own a boutique infant bedding business in Australia and design and manufacture a range. Would love to feature your nursery o my blog. Let me know if this is ok.

    Hi Katie,

Your nursery looks amazing! I’m wondering if you can remember the name of the paint color on the wall? My nursery is gray and orange as well, but I’m still trying to pick out the perfect paint…and I’m loving yours. Let me know!

    LOVE this room! So much!
Is your mother-in-law willing to share the template she used to sew the crib skirt? I am having one made, but need to find the “perfect” pattern to show the seamstress what I want :)

I just showed her this crib skirt and she figured it out from there. I like that it was adjustable for different crib heights! Check out this blog and I hope it helps! http://blog.urbangrace.com/2009/the-nursery-diaries-chapter-5/
