New Domain Name

You might have noticed some strange activity happening over here on the blog the last few days.� Refresh Design Studio has been going through a few updates and I am excited to announce that we finally have the domain name to match our business name!

It would be great if you all could take a few minutes to update your feed readers such as google reader or another feed you use, update your blog roll, etc to:

Nursery Closet {Before}

One thing I’d really like to get done for the nursery is a new closet design.� So I used AutoCAD to come up with a new closet layout that will help us to stay more organized and use up all the available closet space.� One of my biggest pet peeves is poorly designed closets and wasted space.� So here’s the before shot of the closet:

Not a whole lot of usable space there on the top shelf.

Hopefully this new closet design will make the best use of space and allow us to store all of baby’s many items!� I’ll be sure to show you the after photos as soon as it gets finished!

A few things to keep in mind when re-designing a closet layout:

-What do you need to store in the closet?� Big stuff, little stuff?� What are the dimensions of the items you need to store?

-What is the best way to use all the available space?� By creating smaller spaces for baskets and boxes or making sure to have enough hanging space for coats and jackets?

-Is is just function and storage that is important to you or do you want to create a beautiful closet as well?

-Will you be leaving the closet doors open most of the time for easy access to items or will the doors be closed until it’s necessary to get something out?

I think this is such a clever idea from Layla over at the Lettered Cottage.� She took a quote from a book and put it up on the wall with vinyl wall letters.� Anyone could do this with a favorite quote or line from a song.� Definitely head over there to check out the rest of the beach cottage that she redid this summer.� It’s gorgeous!

Design Sponge

For me that means white walls & white trim for a blank slate.� Warm woods interjected through flooring, and furniture all to help create some visual acuity & peacefulness.
