A few of you have asked the color of the nursery walls. They are Glidden Winter Evening, but we had it mixed in Olympic Low VOC paint.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you guys have any other questions!
Thank you to Chic Cheap Nursery for featuring Eli’s nursery! Check it out here.
When we painted the nursery a few months ago we also painted our master bedroom. It went from a light blue (that was a little too bright for my taste) to a light gray (the same gray as the nursery). As you can see from the photos below the bedroom has gone through a few progressions already but none of them made me happy. This time I’d like to do it right and have it feel a little more grown up and sophisticated, but still on a budget.
When I was pregnant the only thing I focused on was the nursery and now that the baby is here, I’m ready to start thinking about the next steps in the master bedroom design. So far the only things that are up are the new white curtains and dark gray window shade. The walls are all empty and we have the same bed and bedding.
Blank slate after the new gray paint
Things I’d like to eventually add:
-Art for the walls and over the bed.
-A vanity and mirror
-Accessories for the shelves
-A rug?
-A stencil design for the wall behind the bed like this
-Paint a design on the gray window shade like this but a different pattern.
The only art piece I’ve found so far is this piece from this Etsy seller. Wouldn’t this be amazing in a larger size for over the bed? Since it’s a smaller piece though I think I will add it to a gallery wall somewhere in the room.
This would be such a fun addition to the nursery I think. I’ve been contemplating adding some wall shelves so that I can display a few fun things for the baby to look at like this.
Found here at Anthropologie.
I’m so excited that my nursery was featured on Design Sponge today! Check it out!

Hey everybody!
So sorry for all the problems we’ve been having on the site. It’s all been updated now and should be working!
Another reason for the lack of posts has been that our baby was born on January 28th! We’ve been recovering and spending some quality time with our little one which has been so fun and also utterly exhausting at the same time.
I will be doing my best to start posting more regularly again on here and I have some fun ideas for posts coming up. I can’t guarantee that I will post everyday but my goal is at least once a week for now and gradually posting more and more as we get used to life with a little baby.
Hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for sticking with me during this new chapter and adjustment in our lives.
You might have noticed some strange activity happening over here on the blog the last few days. Refresh Design Studio has been going through a few updates and I am excited to announce that we finally have the domain name to match our business name!
It would be great if you all could take a few minutes to update your feed readers such as google reader or another feed you use, update your blog roll, etc to:
http://www.refreshdesignstudio.com/blog
This will help ensure that you can keep receiving blog posts here correctly and will direct people to the right place.
Thanks!!
I’ve been meaning to post pictures of the nursery for so long now and today I finally got around to snapping some pictures. They’re not the best quality, but they are the best I can do for now so bear with me!
